Core Tip: The Starbucks Coffee Co.’s Evolution Fresh new product pipeline is starting to produce a torrent of innovation.
The Starbucks Coffee Co.’s Evolution Fresh new product pipeline is starting to produce a torrent of innovation. This fall the company will debut its Evolution Harvest snack platform, which will feature nutrition bars, trail mixes and fruit snacks.

By early September the company said Evolution Harvest bars will be available in Starbucks stores in all major metropolitan markets throughout the United States. A line of freeze-dried fruit snacks will debut at the end of September, and Evolution Harvest trail mixes will be introduced in October.

The company also is rolling out 14 Evolution Fresh juices and three Evolution Harvest snack bars at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide.

“We’ve received enthusiastic customer support in every market where we’ve introduced Evolution Fresh juice, and have been working toward our goal of national distribution since the acquisition,” said Chris Bruzzo, senior vice-president of channel brand management and general manager of Evolution Fresh.

Starbucks acquired the Evolution Fresh business in November 2011. Since then the company has been working to expand Evolution Fresh products nationwide. One key to the company’s expansion of Evolution Fresh was the opening of a new juice processing facility in Southern California. The new plant has quadrupled production and distribution capacity for Starbucks.
