National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival founder and organizer Drew Cerza says 40 tons of wings were delivered Tuesday to Coca-Cola Field, the minor league baseball stadium where the event is held every Labor Day weekend.
Cerza says the more than 500,000 wings from Wayne Farms in Alabama arrived aboard two tractor-trailers.
The 12th annual wing festival is being held this Saturday and Sunday. Cerza says the event draws tens of thousands of people from all 50 states and about three dozen other countries to the birthplace of the Buffalo-style wing.
The weekend festival features servings of 100 different styles of wings, live music and a wing-eating contest.
