Associated Seafoods expects to finish its new investment program next week with the integration of the company’s Scottish smoked salmon operation into its new processing facility in Buckie in northeastern Scotland.
The program was designed to improve Associated Seafoods’ international sales, and so far the company has been successful in its export sales.
“Our Scottish smoked salmon sales have been strong this year, particularly into some of our established markets such as Italy and Switzerland,” said Henry Angus, Associated’s sales director. “We have also recently pioneered the sale of our Scottish smoked salmon into Russia and have begun a new export trade of scallops.”
The company produces and sells processed crab and other seafood products, along with smoked salmon. The company expects the new facility will help with development of new products.
