Bai Brands, the makers of Bai 5, today announced new distribution in Chicago, a significant component of the company’s plans to be a national brand by the end of 2014. Bai’s launch in the Windy City will be supported by distribution from the Dr Pepper Snapple Group, which also works with the company in metro New York. Bai has also secured placement in grocer chain Jewel-Osco, which has a significant presence in the Midwest.
Bai is aiming to enter all 50 states via 12,000 new retail outlets, according to a company statement. To complement Bai’s national ambitions, the company recently opened a corporate office and a 27,000 square-foot warehouse facility in Corona, Calif., east of Los Angeles. The office and facility give Bai a presence on the West Coast to match its headquarters in Princeton, N.J. Bai has also recently secured distribution in Target, Stop & Shop, Hannaford Supermarkets, Raley’s and Costco stores across the country.
“The Bai secret is now spreading across the country,” Bai CEO Ben Weiss said in the statement. “Consumers who have discovered Bai in one of our launch markets are now asking for it at their favorite retailer back in their home town. Our plan is to launch in over 1,700 new stores by the first day of 2014, which will constitute a number of key pieces of our national distribution puzzle.”
