Wenphil, a Philippines-based franchise holder of American fast food giant Wendy’s, plans to triple its existing store count in the country by 2016, as part of its expansion strategy.
The franchise holder was approved by Wendy's last year, to sub-franchise, making it the first franchisee.
Wenphil chairperson Elizabeth Pardo-Orbeta was quoted by bworldonline.com as saying, "We need to hit 100 stores by 2016. We will go full blast in franchising next year. That is the fastest way to grow. We are the only country that is allowed to have a sub-franchise. We are still writing the franchising manual for Wendy's."
The company commenced renovation of its 34 outlets for franchising.
Wenphil is looking at a deeper concentration in the key cities of the Visayas and Mindanao. Its current stores, as well as potential stores, are all located in Luzon.
Wenphil plans to reach a target of 40 stores by the year end.
