Heiploeg Group on Friday announced after studying the verdict by the European Commission, it will file an appeal against the EUR 27 million (USD 37 million) fine that was imposed last week.
The fine is related to an investigation into several North See shrimp traders that are believed to have formed a cartel, colluding on prices and dividing up markets from 2000 to 2009.
In addition, Heiploeg is exploring legal possibilities to claim potential damages with people that were responsible at the time.
During the appeal procedure, the company said it will not be available for comments.
