Vinitaly International has launched a pilot study - Vinitaly International Importer Connect (VIIC) - in order to develop a new supporting channel for Italian wineries.

The new VIIC online tool will enable suppliers to find importers and distributors across the world.

Vinitaly International managing director Stevie Kim said that Vinitaly International Importer Connect seems to be the logical stepping-stone to its on going efforts to provide additional tools to Italian producers.

"We are always looking for any tools to assist producers better approach upcoming showcases by identifying potential contacts for the agenda prior to the date of the event, just as they would be doing back home in Verona at the annual appointment where 4000+ producers meet with +150,000 attendees. The better organized you are the more realistic your expectations are," added Kim.

Vinitaly International has collaborated with BeverageTradeNetwork.com and Brand Action Team's ImporterConnect to launch a pilot test of the project that is aimed at connecting American importers with Italian wine producers.
