45 Brunei online food entrepreneurs attended the Online Food Business Seminar organized by Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources at Horticultural Convention Center on Thursday.
The seminar aims to give the online entrepreneurs a better insight on the procedure of obtaining Halal certificate and approval. Online entrepreneurs were also reminded by the speakers to maintain a good hygiene environment at their kitchen or premise where they are producing the food products to avoid any mishap and ensure high quality of the food products.
The online food entrepreneurs have gained popularity and a certain amount of market share as they are usually home-based businesses which get to start up at a lower cost, and can promote their food products through social media such as Facebook and Instagram. Besides this, they also actively participate in bazaar, food fair or expo locally.
As to avoid any mishap or complaint from food poisoning, this seminar has come in handy for the online food entrepreneurs to ensure food cleanliness and quality. The speakers for the seminar include officials from Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs.
This event was part of the yearly activity calendar planned by the department to help the local small business enterprises to expand and sustain their businesses.
