Pacific Sunrise Ventures LLC (PSV) has launched an affordable Gold Star Food Safety Maintenance Program for companies in the food industry who maintain HACCP or GFSI-approved certifications.
Each maintenance agreement is customized to satisfy an organization's unique requirements.
PSV Food Safety Consultants is a nationwide network of experienced food safety consultants who help food growers, manufacturers, processers, packagers, distributors and retailers become and remain certified under worldwide standards approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). PSV also assists clients in preparing and verifying Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans that are required by government agencies and also comprise the foundation for many GFSI certifications.
The PSV annual Gold Star Food Safety Maintenance Program is customized for each client. It is designed to assist U.S. companies in the food industry in maintaining their safety programs and level of readiness to ensure compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and FDA regulations.
"The FSMA has created an evolving landscape of new regulations, and unannounced FDA inspections are becoming frequent. If an organization's food safety program is not current, facilities can be shut down. Unprepared companies also risk costly recalls and civil or even criminal litigation," notes Al Kernek, co-founder of Pacific Sunrise Ventures. "Our certified consultants will visit a company's facilities periodically to review compliance with food safety programs; completeness of document management systems; policies, practices and procedures; and readiness for periodic certification audits or FDA inspections. If incremental training is necessary, we will accomplish that too. We are also just a phone call away when food safety questions arise or advice is requested."
PSV notes that the Gold Star Food Safety Maintenance Program is not a "one size fits all" solution. "Every company has different requirements," notes Kernek, "and we work together with each organization to establish a unique maintenance program that meets their specific needs and budget."
