KLN Family Brands, an American snack food manufacturer, has purchased the former Troyer Farms potato chip plant in northwestern Pennsylvania.
The company will begin the manufacturing of kettle-cooked potato chips, popcorn and other snacks at the plant by spring 2014.
Meanwhile, the company is expected to employ around 100 people soon at the plant, with plans to add 300 more over the future.
In addition, KLN Family plans to shift its operations to a new plant over the next coming years.
KLN Family Brands manufactures and sells snacks, and candies. It offers traditional and kettle-cooked potato chips, kernel corn tortilla and corn chips, cheese puffs and curls, gourmet popcorn, and baked potato crisps; and juicy twist candies, cherry bites, black/strawberry twists, licorice mixes, and chocolate-covered snacks.
