Fresca group Ltd has announced a significant change in the management of the group. Chairman and chief executive Chris Mack said in a letter to board member and staff, "I am writing to you to inform you of an important and exciting change to the management of Fresca Group Ltd."
"After twenty five years acting as both chief executive and chairman of the business, I believe that it is time for me to embark on what will be a key transition for the company. I am extremely pleased to announce that with effect from 1 July 2014, Ian Craig will be taking over the role of chief executive officer, whilst I shall continue as full-time chairman."
Ian is, of course, well-known both within the company and the industry as a whole. He originally joined Mack in 2004 as managing director of DGM Growers, and was instrumental in the successful merger of this business into what was to become Manor Fresh Limited. In 2010 Ian moved to Kent to take on the responsibility for the new and iconic glasshouse business, Thanet Earth Marketing. During his tenure this business has grown to become the UK’s number one grower and supplier of glasshouse salad crops.
"In his new role Ian will be responsible for all day to day management of our businesses whilst I will continue to be very involved with key customers, growers, our joint venture partners and the strategic development of the business.
As a result of this change we will now be seeking to appoint a new managing director for Thanet Earth Marketing," stated Mack.
"This is an important development for Fresca Group and I look forward to working with Ian to ensure the continuing successful development of our business."
