e brewery, the Lisbon court has banned AB InBev from selling any beer under the name Budweiser in Portugal by cancelling the rights owned by Anheuser-Busch.It offered Budvar the sole rights to the Budweiser trademark in Portugal. Budvar NP has been struggling with AB InBev for more than a century over use of the Budweiser trademark in the country.
AB InBev spokeswoman Karen Couck was quoted by Associated Press as saying: "the ruling has not affected the sales of its beer under the established Bud brand in Portugal."
Budweiser Budvar currently has over 380 trademarks registered in 101 countries globally including Budweiser, Budvar, Budweiser Budvar, Bud, Budejovický Budvar and Czechvar.
