RAC 2014 is one component of the four-part Cape Industries Showcase Expo, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 2 to 4 July 2014.
“Cold chain handling and refrigerated storage systems are an inevitable and essential investment in preventing perishable food losses along crop-to-shop distribution channels,” says John Thomson of Exhibition Management Services, organisers of theshow.
Hot equatorial summers bring an abundance of sunlight and rain to African farmers’ and producers’ crops and stock, but the stifling heat limits the distribution radius of unrefrigerated food products.
As such, globaldemand for commercial refrigeration equipment is forecast to rise 4,4% a year through to 2016, worth$32-billion.“Much of this demand emanates from Africa’s burgeoning new consumer markets,” continues Thomson. “RAC Africa is ideally placed to facilitate business opportunities for buyers, importers, agents and distributors, and will showcase the latest products, technologies, services and trends from around the world.”
China and Turkey have confirmed bookings for national pavilions at the show, with pending bookings from suppliers in Hong Kong, Thailand, India and Germany.
