Garden Protein International, a producer of plant-based protein brand gardein, has launched golden fishless filet.
The crispy and breaded fish-free product is claimed to provide omega-3s with no cholesterol and is now available at select retailers across the country.
Each serving of the cholesterol-free, vegan and kosher filet offers 32mg of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids and is made with non-GMO soy, wheat and canola oil. It is a convenient option for tacos, sandwiches, as a snack served with fries and coleslaw, or a dinner served with rice and veggies.
The company stated that the protein-packed option allows consumers to enjoy fish in a safe, sustainable and socially responsible way.
gardein founder Yves Potvin said, "We spent a lot of time perfecting the flaky, moist texture on the inside and the crispy coating on the outside."
The brand offers convenient and versatile foods, which are available at over 20,000 retail locations as well as in many restaurants, colleges and universities across North America.
