BASF’s citral plant in Ludwigshafen will be closed for approximately four weeks as the result of a March 12 fire caused by a technical equipment failure. The company declared a Force Majeure on citral-based aroma chemicals, as well as vitamin A and vitamin E products for human and animal nutrition.

The company’s nutrition and health division is working to limit supply-chain problems for its customers and will supply available in-stock BASF products to its customers on a pro-rata basis.
