Private equity investor Blackthorne Partners has partnered with business executive Ross Lund to buy food processing equipment manufacturer Hughes Equipment.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Established in 1961, Hughes Equipment provides standard and customized equipment for vegetable, pasta, rice, fruit and root crop processing, and preparation.
The company will continue to operate from its 60,000ft² plant in Columbus, Wisconsin.
Lund has assumed the role of president and CEO of the acquired entity.
Lund said, "Through investments in our people and in technology, we will help our customers become even more productive."

Former president and owner of Hughes, Jeff Powell, will retain an interest in the company and provide consultancy services to Lund.
