Robotic automation solutions provider Motion Controls Robotics has partnered with Combi Packaging Systems to launch Ergobot, a new automated version of Combi's Ergopack hand packing equipment.
The new case packing equipment combines robotic pick and place platform with ergonomic hand packing equipment.
Using its knowhow in robotic packaging, case packing and palletizing, Motion Controls Robotics will strengthen the ability of both firms to automate case packing and packaging tasks.
Ergobot is claimed to accommodate variable pack counts and offer increased throughput and reliability, increased packing rates with multiple robots.
It allows manufacturers to perform multiple product packaging with manual or automatic robot tool change, as well as provides with product tracking and traceability, lot verification and serialization capabilities.
Motion Controls Robotics president Scott Lang said that the collaboration between Motion Controls Robotics and Combi will give customers of existing or new ergonomic hand packing stations the opportunity to fully automate case packing operations.
"We can create retail ready packages and perform case packing tasks that are difficult, ergonomically challenging, or unsafe for humans," added Lang.
Motion Controls Robotics executive vice president Tim Ellenberger said, "Motion Controls Robotics' deep experience in robotic material handling together with Combi Packaging's market leading manual pack station technology are a perfect complement to each other."
The company caters to food and beverage, plastics, building and construction materials, and board and sheet goods industries.
