The Seminole Tribe of Florida has bought 60% stake in juice producer Blue Lake Citrus Products, a move that increases the company's citrus industry investments and growing citrus holdings.
The transaction follows Seminole Tribe's purchase of Noble Food Service, the sales and marketing unit of Blue Lake Citrus Products in April 2013, which expanded the growth of the Seminole Pride and Noble brand of citrus juices in the US and Canada, reported bevnet.com.
Seminole Tribe of Florida president Tony Sanchez said that the expanded partnership positions the Tribe for significant growth within the food service and retail channels with pure products that bring awareness to Florida's agriculture.
"The Tribe is growing and diversifying its business interests by partnering with local Florida, family companies to strengthen the people and agriculture of Florida," added Sanchez.
The Blue Lake Citrus Products plant has the capacity to produce more than seven million gallons of juice products annually from 1.2 million boxes of citrus fruit, averaging 90 pounds per box.
