Surimi producer Trans-Ocean Products has named Murray Park the company’s newest president, and Itaru Kawada its executive VP.
The company, a subsidiary of Maruha-Nichiro and based in the United States in Bellingham, Wash., announced the new appointments this week. Park, according to Trans-Ocean, served as VP and general manager since 2012, and also held management positions at Westward Seafoods, another Maruha-Nichiro subsidiary.
Park is replacing Yasuaki Kawakita, who has moved to a new position within Maruha-Nichiro. Park will run the Washington surimi processing facility and will work to expand the company’s smoked salmon and shrimp product lines.
Kawada also worked at Westward, running the company’s Dutch Harbor, Alaska processing facility. He also served at Maruha-Nichiro’s office in Tokyo as surimi sales manager.
