Iced tea manufacturers Somaiced teage Fine Foods have launched two Chamellia Iced Tea flavours — English Breakfast with Lemon and Mint and Lemongrass and Ginger — into the Australian foodservice channel.

Somage Fine Foods said its Chamellia Iced Tea range is a blend of single-origin tea and “fresh, organic fruit”. The Company said the aim for the new product was to “deliver the same authentic flavour as small batches of homemade iced tea on a much grander scale”.

The Company said each iced tea is cold infused overnight before being pasteurised and bottled or packed into casks. The tea leaves are sourced from Sri Lanka.

Somage Fine Foods said the cold infusion method of creating ice tea “not only keeps in the flavour but also leaves the nutritional value of the tea and fruit intact”.

Chamellia Iced Teas are available in two litre bottles (cartons of six) or 10 litre casks. The Company said the teas are best served chilled, on ice or as creative cocktails. The range is currently available for foodservice only, but Somage Fine Foods told Australian Food News that it was working on a retail option, which it hopes to launch later in 2014.
