Frerejean Freres Champagne launches this spring in the UK.
Aged for five years and produced entirely from premier cru grapes, the Frerejean-Taittinger brothers’ champagne has, through the years, grown to become one of the most popular of the region.
The champagne showcases the family’s heritage and history in the champagne tradition, but also underscores their commitment to producing a premier cru.
Immersed in the champagne tradition from a young age, the Frerejean-Taittinger brothers were always passionate about oenology and it is no surprise that they decided to launch their very own champagne house, Frerejean Freres.
Frerejean Freres champagne originates from the Côte des Blancs and the premier cru village of Grauves just south of Epernay.
The fermentation process and maturation take place in their cellars in Grauves and the wines are aged for over a five-year period in the cellar, setting Frerejean Freres apart from most champagnes.
The Cuvee des Hussards is a luxurious ‘Blanc de Blancs,’ made from 100% Chardonnay.
The FJF Brut Premier Cru combines three grapes, 50% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 20% Meunier, to create a complex but not complicated wine.
The FJF Extra Brut is composed of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in equal part, aged for eight years and the first production of this unique 2006 vintage was limited to 2,000 bottles.
Frerejean Freres champagne is available in the UK through Adnams Cellar & Kitchen Shops as well as through wine specialist Winechap.
Several new openings in London have chosen Frerejean Frères as their leading Champagne including Margaux in South Kensington and Villandry in St. James’s.
