LEAF Brands LLC, the candy and snack manufacturer known for bringing back the classic rocket pop, Astro Pops and also known for launching the popular candy products, Farts Candy and David's Signature Beyond Gourmet jelly beans, has acquired the Tart n Tinys, Hydrox sandwich cookie, Wacky Wafers and Quicksand Bubblegum trademarks and will reintroduce the classic brands back into the market this year.
According to LEAF Brands® CEO Ellia Kassoff, "Similar to our acquisition of Astro Pops®, we plan to reintroduce Tart n Tinys™, Hydrox™, Wacky Wafers™ and Quicksand™ Bubblegum over the next six to eight months. They are all such iconic, classic products we can't wait to bring these favorites back to their loyal fans. We just had to wait until we were able to make them all exactly like the consumer remembers them. As a company resurrecting old brands, it's critical all products we bring back are perfect. The loyal consumer will only give the products one chance to hit the mark, and if they're not the same, the customer won't buy them again."
Tart N Tinys™- Tart n Tinys™ were the best little candies to pop in your mouth back in the 1970's through the 2000's. After being discontinued, the legacy was picked up by LEAF Brands® in 2013. LEAF Brand's Tart n Tinys™ will be exactly like the original; (uncoated and full of flavors) and added new flavor; Blue Raspberry. Tart n Tinys™ fans were very particular about LEAF Brands keeping the original mouth feel of the uncoated little candies, plus, we're keeping their iconic "stackability" too! Stack them up and toss them in your mouth! Tart n Tinys™ will be re-launched at the Sweets and Snacks expo, with shipping slated for June.
Hydrox™ Cookies- Hydrox, known as the original sandwich cookie will be exactly like the original cookie which left the market in 2008. "We're just so excited to bring back the original Hydrox product. Not many people know it but Hydrox WAS the original sandwich cookie, predating Oreo by four years. You can even say Oreo® was the 'knock-off' to Hydrox!" Ellia Kassoff, CEO of LEAF Brands comments. Shipping should begin in August/September timeframe.
Quicksand™ Bubblegum- Quicksand is the fun powdered bubblegum which left the market in the early 1980's and will be reintroduced by LEAF at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago later in May. The new Quicksand™ Bubblegum will be sold in assorted flavors which you can mix in your mouth and make wild combinations.
Wacky Wafers™- After a long wait, the original Wacky Wafers™ will be reintroduced, with shipping slated for July/August of this year. They will be the larger size wafer in a five-pack. Flavors include: Watermelon, Green Apple, Orange, Strawberry and Banana.
LEAF'S strategy is to rebuild one of the largest candy and snack companies in the US, through brand acquisition and development of new and fun products for people to enjoy. LEAF also focuses on resurrecting many old brands in their original form, and then expand the product lines once the products are launched. Currently LEAF has plans to bring back Bonkers!™ Fruit Chews in late 2014.
