India’s Oilmeal Exports up 20 Per Cent in April

The association attributed the growth to increase exports of rapeseed meal oils to South Korea and Thailand during the month.

However, export of soybean meal drastically reduced in April 2014 due to high price of soybean lead to disparity in crushing and export.

Thailand imported of 42,550 tonnes, as compared to 15,032 tonnes, consisting 41,800 tonnes of rapeseed meal and 750 tonnes of soybean meal.

Europe has turned out to be bigger market for Indian Non GMO Soybean Meal. Europe imported 32,197 tonnes, as compared to 11,694 tonnes of last year.

However, oilmeals import by Iran from India during April 2014 was recorded at 57,780 tonnes compared to 67,576 tonnes last year consisting of 35,400 tonnes of soybean meal and 22,280 tonnes of soybean meal.

Vietnam imported 11,084 tonnes compared to 12,243 tonnes last year consisting of 8,049 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 2,435 tonnes of soybean meal and 600 tonnes of rice bran extraction, the SEA statement adds.
