American food company Hillshire Brands has completed its acquisition of Van’s Natural Foods from Catterton Partners, in a $165m deal.
Van's is a better-for-you food brand that offers multiple product lines in frozen breakfast and snack foods. The deal was originally announced on 21 April 2014.
The Hillshire Brands Company president and chief executive officer Sean Connolly said Van's is a proven health and wellness brand that has attracted a loyal consumer following.
"Adding Van's delicious products and talented team to our organization will expand Hillshire Brands' presence in the frozen category and beyond and help us to drive even greater health and wellness innovation," Connolly added.
Van's Natural Foods' frozen breakfast and snack foods lines include waffles, pancakes, cereal, crackers and snack bars, and are available at grocery stores, mass merchandise stores and natural food retailers across the US.
Following the acquisition, Van's Natural Foods will now become part of Hillshire Brands' Retail segment that already brands such as Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm and Ball Park.
