The acquisition is in line with Coca-Cola Company's agreements to grant new, expanded territories to five US bottlers including Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, Coca-Cola Bottling Company United , Swire Coca-Cola USA, Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country and Corinth Coca-Cola Bottling Works.
Scottsboro Coca-Cola, which will become a part of Coca-Cola United's newly formed Tennessee Valley Division, has already began its operations in the new territories.
Coca-Cola North America group president Sandy Douglas said together with Coca-Cola United, the company believes a strong franchise system is important to achieve its 2020 Vision.
"With this announcement we continue our efforts to create a more contemporary, agile and customer-focused operating model," added Douglas.
Tennessee Valley Division vice-president Darren Hodges said, "We are pleased to include Scottsboro Coca-Cola Bottling Company into the Coca-Cola UNITED family. We share a common desire to deliver the greatest brands in the beverage industry to consumers in the areas we call home."
