Fresh fish are consumed in the home, accounting for 44.6 per cent of the total, followed by seafood and canned fish.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment has prepared a study on the consumption of fishery products in homes during 2013, which shows that Spaniards spend 13.12 per cent of their shopping budgets on fish. This means an average of €200 per person per year, a cost that has increased by four per cent from 2012.
