US state of Ohio has announced plans to renovate the Lonz Winery property, which has halted its operations since 2000.
The move is said to form a part of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR)'s strategy to make capital improvements.
The state is seeking investments from private investors for the winery, which is located on Middle Bass Island.
Around $6m will be invested to make improvements at the winery site, in a move to create a facility that will invite a public-private partnership.
Initially, the state bought the winery as well as the surrounding area of 120 acres in order to create a state park.
Meanwhile, the state is also investing in projects on Kelleys Island, North Bass Island, and South Bass Island state parks.
ODNR director James Zehringer said, "These projects will improve the experience of our visitors and help transform the Lonz Winery property into a destination that will benefit the residents and local businesses."
