GNT Group has opened a new facility at its headquarters in Mierlo, The Netherlands, boosting the company’s production capacity of Coloring Foods by nearly 100 percent. Designated task of the additional unit is the creation of finished products including filling and packaging, using fruit, vegetable and plant concentrates delivered by other GNT plants.
This recent expansion enables market leader GNT to respond to the globally increasing demand for natural color solutions.
GNT’s new 2,500 square metre facility leverages latest technologies, increasing efficiency and ensuring various environmental benefits. The new state of the art mixing and filling systems work largely automated, augmenting the maximum batch size of Coloring Foods to 25,000 kilogrammes. In addition, the production time is vastly reduced and the flexibility is improved.
With the new facility GNT did not only increase capacities for existing products but also for new product lines and future innovations. The company can now also answer the increasing demand to the recently introduced EXBERRY OD, an oil dispersible product suitable for fat- and oil-based foods.
“Being the pioneer and leading global provider of Coloring Foods, GNT has always been dedicated to not only meet but exceed clients’ demands. With the new production unit GNT completed the last stage of a five-year plan to overhaul the entire production chain, enabling us to accommodate the growing demand for Coloring Foods. The new production unit stands in line with our long-term business strategy, strengthening our leading market position”, says Dr. Hendrik Hoeck, Managing Director of GNT Group. GNT expects Coloring Foods to become the industry standard within the next years.
GNT’s plant in Mierlo has been built in the early 1980s and currently employs over 100 people (FTE).

EXBERRY Coloring Foods provide a wide array of vibrant and stable color shades. Since they are a natural alternative to additives, they meet the needs of consumers looking for natural and healthy foods.
