Westbourne Drinks, a British establishment, has introduced a new independent rum brand - The Duppy Share.
The move is in line with the company's strategy to enter into the rum category.
Bottled at 40% abv, Duppy Share rum is made with a combination of three-year-old Jamaican rum and five-year-old Barbados rums aged in Bourbon barrels, the company claims.
Priced at an RRP of around £37.99, Duppy Share will be exclusively available in Selfridges, beginning July this year.
Westbourne Drinks founder George Frost said that there is a gap in the rum category for a contemporary and premium player.
"Rum hasn't undergone the same level of premiumisation as other spirits, and so there is huge growth potential for the category," added Frost.
