CFIA Closes Northern Natural Processing

Zoom in font  Zoom out font Published: 2014-07-22  Views: 39
Core Tip: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has suspended the operating licence of beef slaughterer Northern Natural Processing.
The Neudorf, Saskatchewan beef slaughterer was closed down because it had failed to implement corrective measures required by regulation to ensure the safety of the meat products being produced.

The CFIA said adequate controls for food safety were not being reliably implemented in the plant on a consistent basis.

Northern Natural Processing will not be permitted to resume operations until the necessary corrective measures have been implemented and the CFIA is fully confident in the plant's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failing to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations.
