Frozen foods company Windsor Foods has decided to close its production facility located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As a result of the shutdown, which will take place in September, about 70 employees will lose their jobs, reported Tulsa World.

The company said in a statement: "As part of a strategic initiative to build on its competitiveness and market leadership, Windsor Foods has made the difficult but necessary business decision to close the Tulsa, Oklahoma, production facility.

"The closure will allow the company to consolidate business operations and focus on core markets."

"Production at the Tulsa plant will end in mid to late September, and we will be working with our employees in the coming weeks on severance and benefit plans and outplacement services."

Founded in 1996, Windsor Foods manufactures and markets high-quality specialty frozen foods for consumers, commercial restaurants, and foodservice operations from its nine plants in seven states.
