Veronica’s Snacks has crossed the Irish Sea to launch in UK for the first time.
The range, which includes baked organic crisps, veggie crisps and kids favourite ‘Crunchy Creatures’ baked corn snacks, has launched in the crisp aisle in Tesco stores nationwide.
Having conquered the free-from snacks market in the Republic of Ireland, Veronica’s Snacks is set to respond to UK consumer demand for snacks that can be enjoyed by all, including those who are gluten intolerant – giving all crisp lovers ‘permission to munch’.
The Veronica’s Snacks range has launched with four varieties; Sour Cream, Herb & Onion baked potato crisps, Barbeque baked potato crisps, Roast Tomato & Spanish Paprika baked veggie crisps and Crunchy Creatures cheese corn snacks.
All Veronica’s products are organic, baked not fried and contain up to 60% less fat than regular crisps.
All varieties are available as part of the Tesco meal deal, and product can be found in the crisp aisle, a first for Veronica’s products, which were previously in the free-from aisle in Irish Tesco stores.
Veronica Kenneally, founder of Veronica’s Snacks, said:
“We had a very positive reaction to the brand when we exhibited at the International Food Expo and were receiving comments from UK consumers who were keen to find UK stockists for the crisps.
“The UK is the second largest snack market in the world and Veronica’s Snacks fit nicely into the crisp aisle, providing a healthier and gluten free option for crisp fans.”
Veronica’s is entirely open about the process that creates the crisps, from blending the ingredients in a ‘giant mixer’ to baking them at 160 degrees centigrade and spraying them with flavouring using ‘a giant hairdryer’.
The crisps are made to a uniform size by a piping machine than ensures the same amount of mixture is added to each crisp and baking on a hot plate.
