UK-based Fine Seafood Co has recalled all packs of its smoked salmon and smoked mackerel as they may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the UK Food Standards Agency.

The products associated with the recall include 100g Smoked Salmon, 240g Plain Smoked Mackerel, and 240g Peppered Smoked Mackerel.

All batch and date codes of these products are affected by the recall. However, no other Fine Seafood Company products are known to be affected.

According to FSA, point-of-sale notices will be displayed in stores explaining the actions consumers can take if they have bought the affected product.

Consumption of the recalled products may cause food poisoning in certain groups of people, such as pregnant women, unborn and newborn babies, and in people with reduced immunity, particularly the over-60s.

Customers who have purchased the recalled products are advised not to consume and return them to place of purchase for a full refund.
