Described as a ‘layered yoghurt’, the range contains a milk-based yoghurt along with fresh fruit and vegetables mixed in.
Customers will initially have three choices to pick from: ‘cinnamon and sweet potato’, strawberry and beetroot and ‘apple and carrot’.
Each tub claims to contain half a serve of recommended daily vegetables and has been given five stars on the Australian government-endorsed health rating front-of-pack labelling system. The yoghurts are designed for customers to ‘grab and go’ with a spoon as part of the packaging.
Yummia’s founder is Mia McCarthy who several years ago created a ‘grab-and-go’ bircher muesli range in her parents kitchen when McCarthy was a 22 year old university student. The bircher muesli made its way into Woolworths, Caltex petrol stations and independent stores.
The fruit and vegetable yoghurt sells at a recommended retail price of $3.00 per tub and is now available from Woolworths and independent stores across Australia.
