Hog casings may elicit allergic reactions in the rare cases of individuals known to be allergic to pork proteins.
The items were produced on various dates between Sept. 17, 2014, and June 1, 2015. The following products are subject to recall: [View Label (PDF Only)]
18 lb. cases of 12 oz. tray packs of “Panama Sweet Chicken Longanisa.”
The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “P-2888” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in California.
The problem was discovered by FSIS personnel conducting a routine food safety assessment of the company’s products. The establishment produces their own in-house labels.
FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
