AdvancePierre Foods of Oklahoma is recalling about 20,373 pounds of ready-to-eat beef patties because they may be contaminated with foreign material, more specifically soft purple plastic. This can pose a choking hazard. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

These AdvancePierre ready-to-eat flame broiled beef patties were produced on November 30, 2018. The recalled item is 14.06-pound cases containing three bags with 30 pieces, for a total of 90 portions of “CN Fully Coked Flamebroiled Beef Patties Caramel Color Added.” The case code is 155-525-0 and the package code is 8334. This product has the establishment number “EST. 2260E” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

They were shipped to food service locations nationwide. The product was also shipped to schools, but was not part of food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program. The firm received two consumer complaints about the plastic found in the product.

Do not eat these patties and do not serve them to others. You can throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. FSIS is conducting retail effectiveness checks to make sure the firm is notifying its customers about this recall.
