The move comes as the company estimates the country to be one of the biggest wine markets in five years in Asia.
Press Trust of India cited Constellation Brands Asia regional director Joe Milner as saying: "India is a key wine market and there is a huge opportunity (to grow).
"We want to make sure we have big footprint with the right brands."
Sula Vineyards import unit Sula Selections currently markets another of Constellation Brands' Ruffino wines in India. Italian winery Ruffino currently sells six to seven brands of its total 20 wine brands in India.
"In the near future we want to focus on the existing brands we offer in India, but we will launch more brands in a couple of years.
"However, high taxes pose challenge but we expect India to be one of the biggest wine markets in Asia in five years." Milner noted.
Milner said that Constellation Brands is also planning to expand Ruffino Brands' distribution reach in the country, with additional investment.
Constellation Brands is an international producer and marketer of beer, wine and spirits and has operations in the US, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Italy.
