The Wines from Spain Awards competition held by the Department of Wines of Spain has announced champion wines for this year.
Around 100 wines from across Spain were evaluated by a group of expert tasters, including buyers, journalists and members of the Institute of Masters of Wine.
Of all the wines evaluated, 16 have been declared champions within sparkling wines, white wines and rosado wines, red wines and sweet & fortified wines categories.
The Best Cava award was given to Ramon Canals Canals Duran Gran Reserva Brut in the sparkling wines category.
The White Wine of Show was awarded to Quinta de Couselo Turonia, Best White Over £10 to Viñedos y Bodegas de la Marquesa's Valserrano, Discovery White to Bodegas del Rosario's Niño de las uvas and Best Great Value White to Raimat's Ánima in the white wines category.
Bodegas Gordonzello's Peregrino Rosado was awarded Best Rosado in the rosado wines category.
The other champion wines were from red wines and sweet & fortified wines categories.
All the champion wines will be made available in the UK market this year.
