Coca-cola is reportedly funding the researchers and scientists who are endorsing the message of regular exercise rather than the calorie intake on several social media and conferences.
The company is offering logistical and financial support to a new nonprofit organisation known as Global Energy Balance Network, including scientists and researchers, to spread the message to masses.
The organization will spread the message that weight-conscious Americans should focus more on exercising than taking fewer calories, reports Echo Examiner.
As pert the reports, Coke has provided around $1.5m to the new organization to start its activities and campaigns.
The new organization's exercise scientist was quoted by the publication as saying: "Most of the focus in the popular media and in the scientific press is, 'Oh they're eating too much, eating too much, eating too much' - blaming fast food, blaming sugary drinks and so on. And there's really virtually no compelling evidence that, in fact, is the cause."
