Not all manufacturers need labelling equipment for high-volume, high-speed production runs. There are many occasions when a semi-automatic, in-line labeller suits the job far better. Here are three:
Small batches: niche products or those with low-demand.
Test new products: for testing different runs of new products on the market; and because it’s portable, the labeller can even sit on your desk.
Trying new packaging: for trying different options of labels, tubes and so on.
Matthews Australasia is the Australasian agent for Compact Labelling Systems, which has several semi-automatic, in-line labeller models. All are portable, and perfect for slower production lines, low volumes or short runs to label bottles, jars, tubs, cans, tubes and the like.
Compact-a-Wrap: applies one or two labels to round or on parallel sides of a container. A clever orientation device allows over labelling or registration labelling, if needed. Typical applications include: wine bottles, aerosol cans, plastic or glass bottles, embossed bottles, syringes and vials. This labeller can also apply clear labels for a “no label look”.
Compact-a-Pad: applies one or two labels to flat or oval-shaped containers. Typical applications include plastic, glass or steel containers: cosmetic jars (top & bottom, or one label only), or front and back or one label only on trigger packs, flat/ oval bottles and square bottles.
Compact-a-Tube: applies one or two labels to cylindrical plastic or metal tubes: one label (front or back), two labels (front & back – alternately printed), over-labelling pre-labelled tubes and applying labels relative to tube registration mark.
