The Chairman of the agricultural sector in the Federation of Syrian Exporters, Iyad Mohammed, confirmed that practical steps have been taken to facilitate the marketing of citrus this season, despite the problematic context, and to overcome all the difficulties that hinder the export process.
Mr Mohammed explained in a press statement that he discussed the various problems and difficulties faced by the sector with the governor of Latakia and other relevant authorities. The goal is to address all important aspects about the citrus export season, including Russia-Syria relations.
He said that "those in charge of the sorting and packaging, storage and cooling of vegetables and fruits have been contacted by the Federation to get clear details regarding technical information, production capacities and actual methods of packaging for all products marketed."
Mr Mohammed assured that the various parties expressed their willingness to help develop the province's potential and thereby ensure the commercial success of the products and the satisfaction of all producers and exporters, indicating that there has been an increase in the number of production lines, storage capacity and improvement in marketing organization.
