On December 9th, the first batch of 21 tons of fresh pears was exported in containers from Botou Oriental Fruit Corporation to Israel. The pears from Hebei will arrive at its destination next month. The shipment marks ten years of great efforts; China's fresh pears can finally enter the Israeli market.
The economy of Israel is comparatively strong and the country has a high consumption rate. High-end fruit is well received at local markets. At the same time, since the local fruit production mainly consists of citrus, avocados, bananas, jujubes, ect., the Chinese white pear and China's sand pear have a certain market potential. Therefore export prospects are strong.
As one of the birthplaces of the Pyrus plant, China is one of the main pear cultivation areas, the country has the largest output and the export volume ranks second worldwide. The pear is an important fruit in Northern-China. Hebei's cultivation areas and output rank first in the country.
