The top predictions for cocktail drinking trends amongst Australians in 2016 has been released by global spirit producer Brown-Forman Corporation.
Brown-Forman owns a number of spirit brands including Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Woodford reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Herradura Tequila, Chambord Black Raspberry Liqueur and Finlandia Vodka.
The predictions list has been compiled by Stuart Reeves, lead in-house mixologist at Brown-Forman Corporation.
Cocktails on tap
2016 will see a rise of ‘cocktails on tap’. This will involve pre-mixed cocktail varieties ‘on tap’ at bars and pubs just like beer and ciders.
“Cocktails on tap allow for complex recipes to be delivered consistently and at a faster pace,” said Reeves.
Personalisation
Consumer preferences will be enhanced by providing guests with DYI options and tailoring each recipe.
“DIY cocktails are very cost effective, and a great way to kick off conversation around the creation and personalization of a cocktail specifically for the evening’s guests,” said Reeves.
Fresh ingredients
Low calorie drinks with fresh ingredients will be a priority for drinkers in 2016 with health concerns continuing to be a top priority.
“This summer is also about keeping drinks light, clean, and fresh,” Mr Reeves said.
“Staying cool during the hot summer months with delicious, low calorie spritzers and summer cocktails infused with quality ingredients are a must,” he concluded.
