In a Chinese village in Lunshunkou, Dalian, villages are busy packaging cabbage and preparing it for transport to Japan. This is the first time Lushun Chinese cabbage has been exported abroad and according to the village's mayor, over 400 tons has already been sent to Japan.
Zhoujia is a famous vegetable-producing village in Lushun. The village has an annual output of more than 20,000 tons of various vegetables. In recent years, in order to seize the vegetable market, the village set up a vegetable production and marketing cooperation to guide vegetable farmers to produce various vegetables according to the strict pollution standards. Furthermore to register the vegetables with the 'Luyuan' pollution free trade mark at the Chinese Industry and Commerce head office.
Zhou Guanghu told the reporter that the price of the cabbage is 0.3 Yuan per kilo; this is more than twice the current market price in Dalian. Besides, if the Japanese market is positive about these cabbages, Lushun will export more vegetables to the Japanese market.
