Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) under the aegis of its Agro & Food Processing Expert Committee is organising a one-day seminar on WhatsHapp Foods: A Contemporary Road Map for the Progress of Agro and Food Industry on January 6, 2016. The event will be held at the Coronet Hall, Hotel Le Meridien, Bengaluru.

The seminar intends to enlighten participants on how this crucial sector is evolving vis-à-vis stricter regulatory norms (FSSAI), financing options, the impending impact of GST on the sector, innovation and automation happening to cater to niche customer base and more importantly the reach of products through branding and marketing channels. There is an urgent need for these aspects to be understood at both macro and micro levels, and integrate accordingly to the evolving framework, according to Raju Bhatnagar, secretary-general, BCIC.

The key speakers of the day-long event are NU Subaya, partner, Dua & Associates, who will address on FSSAI-Packaging & Labelling regulation requirement; and Gopinath Kondi, executive vice-president and head, South India, strategic advisory and research, Yes Bank, who will speak on food and agribusiness. Strategic advisors will address on the emerging opportunities in consumer preferences in agriculture and food processing. Raman N V, director, will delve on the impact of GST on agriculture and food processing sector. PC Mustafa, CEO, iD Fresh Foods, will make a presentation on Innovations in Food Industry; Vikran Sabherwal, vice-president, marketing, MTR Foods; and Dr P Sadananda Maiya, chairman, Maiyas Beverages and Foods; will deliberate on branding of processed foods and traditional foods respectively.
