In recent years, following its strategic planning, Camposol has been investing heavily in its specialisation in fresh foods, as well as in the diversification of the company's portfolio of products and customers. It has also managed to increase its presence in key markets, with good and encouraging results.
In line with this vision, Camposol has decided to further enhance its fresh and frozen business and to stop producing canned goods.
"We believe that these strategic changes in Camposol's business strategy will allow for greater specialization, efficiency and focus on the product categories in which the company has invested, thereby maximising opportunities for growth and consolidation of our business," he stated.
In this regard, an agreement was signed with the Sociedad Agricola Virú, which will allow the latter to make use of Camposol's packing plant for the processing of fresh fruits and vegetables, given their high specialisation in these product categories.
Also, Camposol has transferred assets of its canning business to Virú, namely the canning plant machinery, equipment and inventories, excluding the agricultural and industrial lands where these operations are carried out, which remain the property of Camposol.
Meanwhile, the development of its Trading channel, specialised in the handling of fresh produce, has also achieved positive results, since Camposol's current customer base in the United States and Europe includes the world's largest and most prestigious supermarkets, such as Edeka, Kaufland, Walmart, Costco, Sams, Publix, Kroger, HEB, Metro and Loblaws, among others.
Camposol said that 2015 was a year of consolidation, despite the impact of El Niño and the situation in the international markets.
"We managed to become the world's leaders in the production of Hass avocados, we are close to achieving the same with blueberries, with higher averages than those of the sector as a whole, and we are still in a leading position in Peru's agro-business sector, despite the impact of El Niño and the unfavourable international financial situation we are facing in some destination markets," he concluded.
