On the final day of the Manitoba Potato Production Days in Brandon, Ron Offutt, founder and Chairman Emeritus of the R. D. Offutt Company, the United States’ largest producer of potatoes, spoke about his business success, which he contributes to strong partnerships, finding marketplace voids and focusing on customer satisfaction.
Ron Offutt:
“What has been a key to our success is the looking for a void in the marketplace and finding a way to fill that void."
“To truly be successful you need to have customer satisfaction. It is not an option. It is what you build your business on.”
“At the time I got into potato production, the country was on the edge of tremendous growth in the french fry industry and any time you are in a sector with that kind of growth it becomes much easier to grow and grow successfully.”
