Oman-based AATCO Food Industries has opened a new processing plant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to cater to growing consumer demand for its products in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Levant, Africa, Asia and Oceania region.
Established 20 years ago, AATCO produces several products, including sauces and salad dressings for quick service restaurants across more than 30 countries.
AATCO managing director Kamel Abdallah was quoted by Times of Oman saying: "The new plant will also enable us to accommodate even further growth in the region.
"AATCO is now uniquely positioned to meets the needs of our food solutions, HoReCa and retail customers."
Abdallah added: "The state-of-the-art factory is built to the world class hygiene standard of European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) taking into consideration our responsibility towards our customers and the environment.
"Much time has been taken deliberating on the details required to deliver the most modern facility in the region for the production of condiments."
Its chiller line is claimed to have a lighter carbon footprint than similar equipment available in the market. The facility also has a waste treatment plant.
