US-based Mantrose-Haeuser, a subsidiary of RPM International, has acquired Holton Food Products Company, which is a supplier of food stabiliser and dry egg white products.
Based in LaGrange, Illinois, Holton provides dry egg white products that can be used with food stabilisers by bakeries and prepared foods markets.
These products are used in making fillings, meringue toppings, cakes, cookies, pies, and other dessert items in small and large quantities.
Mantrose marketing director Karen Murphy was quoted by Foodingredientsfirst.com saying: "The Holton management philosophy and corporate culture is synergistic with that of Mantrose.
"We do not view ourselves as simply ingredient suppliers, but solution providers for our customers.
"We both provide a high level of technical support and can custom formulate to meet the needs of our customers."
Holton's products enable firms to optimise texture, moisture control, appearance, production efficiency, shelf life and freeze-thaw stability, reported Foodingredientsfirst.com
RPM CEO Frank C Sullivan said: "Holton, with its high degree of expertise in food stabilisers, is a good strategic fit with our subsidiary, Mantrose-Haeuser.
"The acquisition expands Mantrose's range of speciality food ingredients and provides a key entry into the bakery market.
"We expect to grow Holton internationally by leveraging its products across the Mantrose-Haeuser distribution network."
