2 November 2015 marked the start of the latest tranche of aid associated with the temporary support mechanism for producers of certain fruits and vegetables, following the introduction of the Russian embargo on Polish products.
This is the fourth tranche of support for affected fruit and vegetable producers, who have so far received financial support totalling over 311 million zloty (71.78 million Euro).
A spokesperson for the Agricultural Market Agency reported that more than 300 thousand tonnes of products have already been withdrawn, of which 212 thousand tonnes corresponds to apples, 34.5 thousand tonnes to cabbage and carrots, 7.5 thousand tonnes to peppers, 4.4 thousand tonnes to tomatoes, 2.7 thousand tonnes to cauliflower and 2.1 thousand tonnes to cucumbers. More than 6 thousand fruit and vegetable producers from all over the country have received support.
He added that this aid is being granted to producers of fruit and vegetables carrying out the withdrawal operations in the period from 2 November 2015 to 30 June 2016.
